Christmas Party and Annual Meeting

Thank you to our membership, guests, and local officials for attending our Christmas Party and Annual Meeting on December 4, 2022.  We had a wonderful dinner with members, friends, and guests.  A time to give thanks, recognize our shared accomplishments, report on the year, and swear in officers to the board.

Special thanks to Yorba Linda Mayor Beth Haney for administering the oath of office for our board.  Also, we appreciate Yorba Linda Council Member Peggy Huang for attending and her support.

Thank you again to our Host Committee for helping to make the event possible.

  • Kevin Gillhooley
  • Andrew Hom
  • Christopher Kling, Board of Directors of Greater Laguna Beach GOP
  • Nathan Luxman
  • Borden Moller
  • Frank Ricchiazzi

Our sincere gratitude to Andrew Quinio for his service and commitment as a board member for eight years.  His willingness to volunteer and his dedication to LCROC is much appreciated and we are grateful for his tenure on the board.  We are looking forward though to Andrew’s continued support for our Pride event.

Much appreciation for the toy donations for the Spark of Love campaign from our attendees.  The Spark of Love campaign provides toys for youth in need across Southern California.  This year we donated enough toys to fill three large boxes.

Wishing you all the best and a prosperous New Year, with good health and peace to all.

LAST CALLS to Get Out the Vote for 2022

Last calls to get out the vote for 2022.  Pictured above are some of the LRCOC volunteers that phone banked at the Scott Baugh for Congress office on Sunday, November 6, 2022.  Phone banking is an effective way to rally voters, remind people to vote, and increases the likelihood individuals will vote.

A great two nights of phone banking.  8,300 calls in total. 🎉🎉🎉

Thank you to LCROC Vice-president Anthony Johnson for helping to coordinate the volunteer opportunity.  The staff provided great hospitality with pizza and goodies.

This was a volunteer opportunity and does not signify endorsement by LCROC.

Volunteer Experience at Harvest Solutions Farm

Our organization has a long tradition of volunteerism and community work.  Last year, LCROC organized a toy drive for Spark of Love and it resulted in hundreds of children receiving toys and sports equipment.  Volunteering at Harvest Solutions Farm was another opportunity for us to be community leaders and make a powerful contribution.

“IN ORANGE COUNTY IN 2020, RESEARCH SHOWS 48.8% of Students WERE ELIGIBLE FOR FREE OR REDUCED-PRICE SCHOOL MEALS.  Hunger affects residents of all ages everywhere in Orange County.  Hungry kids lack the energy and focus to do well in school.  Hungry adults struggle to perform at work.  Consistent access to nutritious food helps fuel focus, productivity and well-being so everyone can thrive.” (Second Harvest)

"Homelessness is a devastating experience that has a significant negative impact on an individual’s physical and mental health, well-being, functioning, human development, and life trajectory.  LGBT youth who run away and experience homelessness are at high risk for certain negative experiences and outcomes." (youth.gov)

Second Harvest Solutions Farm is a valuable resource of food for those in need.

LAST CALL to Get Out the Vote for 2022: Phone Bank for Scott Baugh

We had a blast last time.  We are doing it again.  Join LCROC to get out the vote for Scott Baugh.  Dinner, snacks, and drinks provided too.

Phone banking is an effective way to rally voters, remind people to vote, and increases the likelihood individuals will vote.  Training, practice, and a script will be provided to guide attendees through an effective way to contact voters via voicemail or live chat.  The majority of calls are voicemail.

Scott Baugh, candidate for California's 47th Congressional District, has thorough experience and in-depth understanding of the issues, having served as California Assembly Republican Leader, 1999-2000, California Assemblyman, Representing Orange County, 1995-2000, Chairman, Orange County Republican Party, 2004-2015, and Chairman – OCGRIP – Orange County Gang Reduction Intervention Partnership.

Thank you to LCROC Vice-president Anthony Johnson for helping to coordinate this volunteer opportunity.

We're now signing up volunteers for shifts at the phone bank.

When: Sunday, November 6, 2022

4-8:00 P.M.
